Our internal medicine specialists care for patients with a variety of conditions affecting multiple parts of the body. By using advanced technology to gather data, studying clinical signs and lab results, and discussing symptoms with you and your primary veterinarian, our internal medicine service provides expert insight and treatment for your pet’s condition.

Diagnostic Testing and Procedures:

  • Advanced laboratory testing

  • Diagnostic Imaging: Ultrasound, radiograph (x-ray), CT, MRI, and videofluoroscopic swallow studies (for regurgitation disorders)

  • Endoscopy: bronchoscopy(airways), rhinoscopy (nasal passage), gastroduodenoscopy (stomach and small intestine), cystoscopy (urethra and bladder), colonoscopy

  • Minimally invasive sample collection of masses, internal organs, bone marrow, and joint fluid

  • Interventional Procedures:

    • Laser ablation for ectopic ureters

    • Urethral bulking agents for urinary incontinence

    • Intrahepatic shunt coil embolization

    • Laparoscopic liver biopsies

    • Urethral, ureteral, nasopharyngeal, and tracheal stenting

    • Esophageal stricture dilation

Evaluations of conditions such as:

  • Anemia and bleeding disorders

  • Chronic vomiting and diarrhea

  • Lung and airway problems

  • Endocrine disease (complicated diabetes, adrenal gland, parathyroid and thyroid disorders)

  • Infectious disease

  • Immune-mediated diseases

  • Kidney disease

  • Liver disease

  • Unexplained weight loss

  • Urinary incontinence and recurrent infection
