Alexandra Barrett

Dr. Alexandra Barrett grew up in the Portland area and attended Oregon State University for her undergraduate degree and veterinary school. After graduating from veterinary school in 2020, she completed a rotating internship at Oklahoma State University followed by an Emergency and Critical Care internship at WVRC, a private practice in Wisconsin. She loves working in the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine and enjoys providing overnight care for our hospitalized patients. She has particular interests in toxicities, trauma, and sepsis management. Dr. Barrett is committed to continued education, progression of the field of veterinary medicine, and providing the best possible care for your fur babies when emergencies happen. 

Outside of work, Dr. Barrett enjoys reading, hiking and backpacking, cooking, traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with her husband and pets. She has 4 cats named Lydia, Chacon, Stone, and Ziggy and 3 dogs named Valerie, Kona, and Noodle. She enjoys trying new restaurants in the Portland area and during her travels. Dr. Barrett loves being a member of the Pacific Northwest Pet ER and Specialty team and is thankful to be able to enjoy all of the wonderful things the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
