Dr. Jason Couto was born and raised in Columbus, OH, and received his Bachelors, Master’s of Science and DVM from the Ohio State University. He completed a rotating internship at the University of Tennessee and a specialty oncology internship at Michigan State University. Dr. Couto completed his medical oncology residency and combined Master’s program at the University of Missouri. He is actively involved in research focusing on the role the fecal microbiome plays in dogs with cancer. He spends his free time reading, playing music and video games, and spending time with his partner Sydnee, their old dog Griffin and 3 rambunctious male geriatric cats. Coming from a family of veterinary oncologists, Dr. Couto could not be more excited to join the Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center.
